KARACHI: A man on Saturday killed his 22-year-old sister in the name of so-called honour in the metropolis' Quaidabad area.

According to the local police authorities investigating the case, the suspect — identified as Murtaza — shot his sister, Fatima Bibi, in the neck, escaped from the crime scene, and fled to an unknown location after the incident.

The woman died on the spot.

Murtaza, the suspect, fired at a neighbourhood shop and injured a man, Sheez Khan, after killing his sister, police said, adding that Khan received bullets in his leg.

Police recovered 30-bore pistol shells from the site of the incident. Raids were being conducted to arrest the suspect, they said.
