Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme: PM Imran says govt to issue home finance ordinance

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his government will issue an ordinance for home financing loans on Tuesday.

Speaking in the Naya Pakistan Housing Project Scheme, the premier said that it's concerning to note only 0.2 percent of people are funded for home finances and loans are only given to rich. He said that Pakistan is in need of 10 million housing units annually.

"The salaried class and government employees below Grade 19 lack resources to buy a home," he said. "The purpose of the scheme is to give financial resources. We want people to get registered so that they can tell how much they can give monthly."

PM Imran said that many people want to come in the housing sector, and its the first time that investment is being done in the housing sector to cater to poor. "As many as 40 different industries will benefit from the housing scheme."
