BAHAWALPUR: A man raped his teenage daughter repeatedly for some time after his wife — who was tired of getting beaten by him — left five years ago, police said Thursday, adding that the sexual predator has been arrested.

According to police, a first information report (FIR) was registered in a locality in the outskirts of Hasilpur on behalf of the 18-year-old survivor of the trauma. The case was filed in Saddar police station after the woman's nine-year-old brother informed the local feudal lord of how his father — identified as Anwar — persistently raped his teenage sister.

Upon the feudal lord's request, police said, they took action to uncover the crime and arrested Anwar. The predator, they added, had repeatedly raped his own daughter multiple times over the past few years, leading, at one instance, to a pregnancy.

Anwar had consequently forced his daughter to have an abortion, police said.

In addition, police noted that Anwar's wife had left him five years ago to go to her familial home after getting tired of him consistently beating her. The couple has five children in total, including two sons and two daughters, apart from the survivor.
