Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday met a host of dignitaries from the United States to hold talks on a wide range of issues ahead of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

PM Imran met with United States Senator Lindsay Graham, business tycoon George Soros, US Special Representative to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalizad, and Amnesty chief Komi Naidoo over the course of the day.

According to details shared by the official account of the Pakistan government on the social networking website Twitter, PM Imran discussed regional security, trade, and other issues in his meetings.

On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Amnesty International Secretary General Komi Naidoo talked about the "dire human rights and humanitarian situation" in occupied Kashmir.

PM Imran, who reached the United States a day prior to attend the UNGA, appreciated Amnesty International's role in presenting the real state of human rights in the occupied territory.

According to a statement released after the meeting, the premier said that Amnesty's work and efforts had helped raise international community’s awareness about the continuing suffering of the Kashmiri people.

PM Imran expressed his gratitude to Naidoo for the fact that the British human rights NGO published a report on India's use of pellet guns and the devastating impact they had on the Kashmiri folks.
