Opposition parties decide to join Maulana Fazl's Azadi March

ISLAMABAD: All the opposition parties' in the Rahbar Committee have decided to take part in Maulana Fazlur Rehman's Azadi March protest that is due to begin on October 27.

The decision was made at a meeting of Rahbar Committee, a united front of nine opposition parties, which agreed on four points that demand: 

(1)Prime Minister Imran Khan's resignation

( 2) Government's removal 

(3) Fresh election 

(4) Protection of certain clauses of the Constitution

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is due to chair a party's core committee meeting on Wednesday to chalk out a future course of action including the decision regarding Azadi March.

PPP's Nayyar Bukhari also confirmed that his party would attend the Azadi March, but refused to disclose details.

The opposition parties are said to have finalised details including name of central leaders who would attend the march and locations from where they would join the protest.

Rahbar Committee

The PPP and the PMLN have two members each in the Rahbar Committee while other parties have one member each.

The PPP is represented by Yousaf Raza Gilani and Nayyar Bukhari but in today's meeting Gilani was replaced by Farhatullah Khan Babar.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ahsan Iqbal are the Rahbar Committee's members from the PMLN while Akram Khan Durrani and Mir Hasil Bizenjo represent JUIF- and National Party respectively.

Usman Kakar, Hashim Babar, Mian Iftikhar, Shafiq Pasrori and Owais Noorani represent PKMAP, Qaumi Watan Party, Awami National Party, Jamiat Ahle Hadith and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan.
