ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued the notification abolishing federal excise duty on services in provinces. The tax on services will now be collected by provinces.
According to the FBR, federal excise duty on services in provinces was collected in the form of sales tax. After legislation by the provinces, sales tax on services has now been imposed. The objective of this step is to avoid the chances of double taxation.
