Bahawalpur man allegedly rapes seven-year-old niece in fields

BAHAWALPUR: A man allegedly raped his seven-year-old niece here in an area on the city's outskirts, police confirmed on Thursday, adding that they have taken the suspect into custody.
According to police, the man had taken the little girl into nearby fields where he reportedly sexually assaulted her until she lost consciousness. She was subsequently shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur, in an unconscious state.

A first information report (FIR) was registered in the city's Qaimpur police station, following which her uncle — the suspect — was detained.
On the other hand, the district police officer (DPO) for Bahawalpur visited the child in the hospital and inquired about her condition.
