KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police have ended a hostage crisis at a kindergarten and rescued all the captives after a seven-hour standoff, a local police official said Thursday.
"We have ended the hostage taking. The children and teachers are safe. The hostage taker armed with a hammer and machete has been taken to a local hospital," he said on condition of anonymity, without elaborating. (AFP)
