Opposition leaders reiterate demand for 'transparent' elections post APC meeting

ISLAMABAD: The opposition leaders reiterated demand for transparent elections on Tuesday after a meeting of the All Parties Conference.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz leader Ahsan Iqbal were addressing media after the session. 

In his address, Fazl said that the government should take up the holy quran-burning incident with the government of Norway.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman led all parties conference (APC) was held in Islamabad. The opposition parties are deliberating on the next course of action in their anti-government campaign.

The conference being hosted by the JUI-F leader includes nine parties.

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is leading his party's delegation. Other members of the PPP leaders present are Nayyar Bukhari, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Farhatullah Babar.

After Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice-president Maryam Nawaz decided against attending the conference, a four member delegation is representing the party.

Other parties that invited are in attendance are Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Awami National Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan and Jamiat Ahle Hadith.
