RAWALPINDI: Stinky garbage heaps scattered infront of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium persistently perturbs the visitors of Nawaz Sharif Park.
The scattered garbage poses serious health problems to the visiting children as their play area is just opposite to heaps of garbage.
Despite repeated complaints, the relevant officials of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) do not take any action to adress the problem.
The residents have urged that a proper garbage dumping place should be constructed in rear corner of Nawaz Sharif Park to end the problem once for all.
Parking has become almost impossible due to the heaps of garbage scattered there. Meanwhile the construction of Ninth Avenue has added the miseries of residents of Double Road as it is an uphill task to reach Ninth Avenue by crossing the Double Road. Pindiites feel perturbed as they cover a sizable distance from Peshawar Morr to Double road crossing in just five minutes.
Despite equal width they have to wait for a long to cross the double road as it has been turned into a single lane thanks to the brazen encroachers.
Various residents of the locality told APP that due to heavy encroachments they are facing many problems as authorities concerned are not interested in taking action against any encroacher.
Fahim Ahmed, a resident of the locality, said that because of encroachments, people are facing traffic jams especially during the peak hours.
Traffic congestion is another major problem which is being witnessed daily on the road.
The residents have demanded local legislatures to earmark a reasonable chunk of their development funds to broaden the double road as it is failed to meet the traffic rush.
