Electricity shortfall reaches to 5,722 MW
LAHORE: The electricity shortfall in the country has increased and currently stands at over 5,500 MW, Geo News reported.

It is due to an increase in the shortfall that the duration of loadshedding in cities is currently 10-14 hours.

According to PEPCO spokesman, electricity generation is 12,616 MW while demand is 18,338 MW. Thus a shortfall of 5,722 MW is being experienced and residents are severely distressed due to this.

While cities are experiencing 10-14 hours of loadshedding, the situation in rural areas is worse and people are without electricity for up to 20 hours a day.
