Anjum Aqeel hands himself over to police

ISLAMABAD Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Anjum Aqeel has handed himself over to police, Geo News reported on Saturday. According to reports, he handed himself to Kohisar police.

Earlier on Saturday, the civil court had declared Ajum Aqeel as proclaimed offender.

Aqeel was arrested in connection with the National Police Foundation case from the FIA office. While he was arriving at the Shalimar police station, his supporters attacked the police car. Aerial firing and fighting ensued and his supporters managed to free Aqeel from police custody and he fled from the police station.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik took notice of the incident and ordered the arrest of SP and SHO of the concerned police station for negligence.

The sources told Geo News that PML-N leaders were in contact with Anjum Aqeel and he had assured to surrender till this evening.
