KARACHI: The authority for the Pakistan Rangers to function like police has ended, Geo News reported.
According to sources, the Rangers were allowed to seal exit and entry points and conducted searches in all five districts of Karachi.
The authority to Rangers is given on behalf of Sindh government and in this regard the provincial home ministry issued a notification.
A notification that gave the Rangers authority for three months was issued on April 20 which expired at midnight.
Sindh home ministry sources said that a new notification has not been issued.
