Woman's body stashed in gunny sack recovered from Karachi garbage dump

KARACHI: The headless body of an unidentified woman was recovered on Monday from a garbage dump in the city's Surjani Town area, authorities confirmed, adding that it had been stashed inside a gunny sack.

According to police, the woman had been murdered elsewhere before her headless body was ditched in Sector 7 B, Surjani Town. Rescue sources said the woman was killed by slitting her throat.

The body was moved to a hospital for identification purposes, police added, noting that the woman had been killed almost 12 or 13 hours ago. They collected evidence from the crime scene and obtained fingerprints to identify the woman.

Police said they were investigating the crime from all angles.
