KP chief minister undertakes major cabinet reshuffle

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan Saturday shuffled the cabinet, adding more ministers and special assistants in a move aimed at improving the efficiency of the provincial government.  

The chief minister has now added two more ministers and eight special assistants, and advisers in the provincial cabinet.

Iqbal Wazir and Shah Mamood were the two new ministers who were added to the cabinet amid the shuffle that took place.

Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Shahram Khan Tarakai has now been given charge of the Health Ministry.

Minister for Health Hisham Inam Ullah Khan’s portfolio has now been changed to Social Welfare.

Minister for Communication and Works Akbar Ayub Khan has been given charge of the Education Ministry.

Former Special Assistant to the CM for Information Technology (IT), Kamran Bangash has now been assigned the Local Government portfolio.

CM Khan has also appointed Arif Ahmed Zai, Riaz Khan, Shafi Ullah, Zahoor Shakir Wazir Zada, Azam Swati, Ghazan Jamal and Taj Muhammad as his special assistants.
