The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has started seeking consent from its players for the upcoming tour of Pakistan in what is being deemed a sign that the tour might go ahead despite their reservations — ESPNcricinfo reported on Tuesday.

The BCB, in its last official stance, was adamant that it would send its team to Pakistan only for the T20I series, and insisted that the Test series be played on neutral soil.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on the other hand, has maintained that it would no longer play its home series in the UAE as its successful hosting of the Sri Lankan series has answered all questions regarding the security situation in Pakistan.

The impasse, however, may be heading towards a solution as the BCB, as per ESPN, has begun asking its players if they agree to tour Pakistan.

Though a standard exercise before any foreign tour, ESPN adds that it is an indication that the wheels are in motion.

Furthermore, the publication says that an unnamed Bangladeshi Test cricketer has already signed up for the Pakistan tour.

The BCB is expected to take a final decision on the Pakistan tour when their board meets on Jan 12.
