RAWALPINDI: The Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Rawalpindi has given a seven-day deadline to milkmen to shift buffaloes from the city.
Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO)Administrator Anwar Saif Jappa said in a statement on Sunday that operation against the buffaloe owners would be carried out without any discrimination.
He warned the milkmen of heavy fines and imprisonment besides confiscation of their cattle in case of non-compliance of the orders.
He said the TMA would launch the operation after the deadline and the violators would be taken to task. He said that the city would be made neat and clean.
Buffaloes can be seen in Gawalmandi, Dhoke Rata, Dhoke Khaba, Glass Factory, Dhoke Elahi Bukush, Nadeem Colony, Arya Mohallah and Javed Colony. It may be noted the dung of buffaloes dumped by the milkmen into Nullah Leh had caused flooding in the past.
