LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority recovered 80,000 kg worth of expired chocolate in a raid at a local warehouse on Thursday.

The provincial food watchdog's raid saved nearly a hundred thousand children from infectious diseases.

The authorities recovered two trucks full of expired edibles, set to be dispatched to Faisalabad and Lahore.

The persons involved would allegedly repack the chocolates after using chemicals to remove fungus from them, authorities came to know.
