KARACHI: Despite the supply of 180 MMDF by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on the orders of Federal Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim, residents of Karachi are still facing 10 to 12 hours of unscheduled loadshedding, Geo News reported.

Residents of the city say that loadshedding is increased when the supply of gas is decreased and the situation remains the same when it is increased. They complain that Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) staff is not resolving technical faults in a timely manner and their lives have been disturbed by this mismanagement.

The spokesperson for KESC had announced loadsheding would be decreased following the resumption of gas supply. The spokesperson claimed that residential areas were experiencing 3-8 hours of power outages while no loadshedding was taking place in Industrial areas.

KESC has also given a three day deadline to the Karachi Water Board, Municipal Corporation and different government organizations to pay their outstanding dues otherwise connections would be disconnected.
