RAWALPINDI: A large number of people residing along Adiala Road in general and Gulshan-e-Abad, in particular are facing various problems due to pathetic condition of the road and sanitation.
The road has broken up beyond 'jarahi stop' onward while travelling towards Adiala Jail said Sohaib a resident of Gulshan-e-Abad, a cooperative housing society housing thousands of people, adding the road is causing accidents and the residents demanded prompt action from Punjab Highway Authority who built the road, before its total collapse.
Another resident of the Society Umair feared, the main entrance of -Abad Society may cave in as the drain is over-flowing since long and the residents having made repeated requests to the TMO Potohar Town have fallen on deaf ears.
The residents along the road said that no sweeping is carried out by Cantonment as well as TMO staff, which has led to accumulation of heaps of garbage and dust along the overloaded road, causing allergy problems among the dwellers particularly the motorbike riders and pedestrians.
The residents demanded of the DCO to take remdial measures.
