'Land for cadet college project purchased'
MULTAN: Commissioner Khurram Agha said on Saturday that 919 kanal land has been purchased at Moza Hamid Pur Kanora in the suburbs of Multan to set up a cadet college.

Talking to the local people during a visit to Hamidpur Kanora to review pace of progress on the Rs 18 million scheme of a modern basic health unit, the commissioner said that Punjab government had provided Rs 107 million for the purchase of land while funds for the construction of cadet college would be released by the federal government.

Khurram said that 70 per cent work has been completed on Rs 400 million fly-over at Chowk Naag Shah and Multan-Shujabad Carriageway project would be launched shortly.

He said that basic health unit at Hamid Pur Kanora would have a labour room, MO office, waiting room, four residences,5000 gallon capacity water tank and other facilities.

The Commissioner said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani would himself inaugurate the scheme of modern basic health unit within the current month. The BHU would provide better healthcare facility to the rural populace of Moza Hamidpur Kanora and adjoining villages, he added.
