QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani on Monday opposed the formation of new provinces.
Talking to mediamen soon after the Balochistan Assembly session, he strongly opposed the idea of forming new provinces. "There is no flaw in the current set-up of the provinces and it shall be continued," he said and added that the idea of new provinces would prove destructive.
Referring to talks for the formation of new provinces, he said it would be better to give more autonomy to the provinces instead of the formation of new ones.
"The law and order situation in Balochistan will improve soon," he said.
To a question, Chief Minister Balochistan said that no legislator from any party was being forced to join Pakistan People's Party.
