Officials warned of stern action against negligence during polio drive
QUETTA: Chief Secretary of Balochistan Ahmed Bakhsh Lehri has said that tribal, social and political figures of the province are being approached to make the anti-polio drive launched in the province a success.

Chairing a meeting held with regard to the anti-polio campaign here on Monday, he said that all-out efforts were under way to make Balochistan a polio free province and warned stern action against those found negligent during the campaign.

Member of PM's National Task Force Committee and Balochistan Minister Begum Shama Perveen Magsi, provincial secretaries home, health and local government, Commissioner Quetta, deputy commissioners of Quetta, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah and Jaffarabad and representatives of WHO, UNICEF were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Secretary said that it was national responsibility to work against the menace of polio and urged the authorities concerned to take measures for achieving the desired targets of the drive.

Earlier, Begus Shama Perveen Magsi said that efforts were afoot to ensure the administration of anti-polio vaccine to every child of below five years age in Balochistan. She called for the pivotal role of the religious scholars, teachers, notables of the areas and parents for eliminating the menace of polio.
