Violence leaves 5 more dead in Karachi

KARACHI: Five more people were killed and several others injured as violence resurfaced in Karachi after only one day of respite, Geo News reported Monday.

Only in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal unknown armed men gunned down 4 people just a few minutes before Iftar time.

Heavy contingents of Rangers and police have been requisitioned for carrying out a search operation in Rabia City, Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

According to police, gunmen opened fire and killed two youths near Asma Garden in Metroville area. Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The second incident of firing took place near Jauhar Morr in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in which a passerby was killed while two others were injured including a 12-year old boy.

A man was shot dead in Sachal Goth while a tortured body of an unidentified man was found near Lyari River in Shershah.
