FAISALABAD: Two outlaws and a constable were killed in a shootout in Naimat Colony, the area of Madina Town police station, here on Friday.
According to police, some robbers were on their looting spree in the area of Naimat Colony when a police raiding team overtook them after receiving information.
Seeing the police, the outlaws reportedly opened indiscriminate fire at police. In retaliation by the police, two alleged dacoits died on the spot while two constables- Muhammad Maqbool and Azhar Iqbal received serious bullet injuries.
The injured policemen were shifted to hospital where constable Maqbool succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Azhar was stated to be critical.
The outlaws were identified as Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Anwar who were wanted in a number of cases of robbery, vehicle stanching etc.
The police also recovered three vehicles, number plates and some arms from their hideout in Naimat Colony while further investigation was in progress.
