Workshop on women rights

FAISALABAD: A two-day workshop to sensitise the media about the protection of women's rights will be held here on August 22 and 23, under the aegis of Individual Land Pakistan (ILP) in collaboration with Aurat Foundation and USAID.

According to a spokesman, the US government launched a five-year Gender Equity Program (GEP) under USAID with the active partnership of Aurat Foundation in Pakistan in 2010.

Under GEP, the ILP started a series of 23 workshops in nine districts of Pakistan including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Hyderabad and Multan to use electronic and print media for sensitization and protection of rights of women by providing them equal status in society.
