Minister directs DCO to set up special cell for rain affectees
HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Provincial Coordination, Makhdoom Jameel Zaman, has directed the District Coordination Officer Matiari to establish a special cell at his office for coordination and providing relief to the rain affected people in the district.

The minister issued such directives while holding a meeting at DCO Office Matiari on Monday with the officers of district government and other line departments of Sindh Government to review the rain related issues and relief works in the district.

The DCO Matiari Saqib Soomro briefed the minister about the latest situation of rain related issue, relief and rescue measures undertaken by the district administration.

The minister directed the district officers for conducting a proper survey and asked them to submit a report to him so that the losses of the people could be compensated.

He also directed the officers to provide immediate shelters to the displaced persons and also provide other facilities like food, drinking water, medicines and fodder for their animals.

Later, Makhdoom Jameel Zaman attended a charity programme where he distributed blankets, clothes and other daily use articles among the poor people.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party would not rest till improving the lot of the poor people.

He said that today people of Sindh particularly those who are inhabitant of lower Sindh are facing hardships due to rain devastation, however, the PPP leaders and workers were with them at this time of need.

He assured the people that their grievances about the Benazir Income Support Programme would be resolved.
