BADIN: A large number of displaced people due to torrential rains here on Sunday staged a protest demo against inordinate delay in rescue and relief efforts of government.
Protestors including women and children besieged the office of DCO Badin and chanted slogans against government. Vehicular traffic was suspended on the National Highway due to the demo.
The affected villagers demanded provision of food and clean water. They also demanded de-watering of stagnant rainwater from their areas. Later, the local Mukhtiarkar held talks with the protestors and assured them of early relief and rescue efforts; after that the protestors dispersed peacefully. (PPI)
