QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani on Thursday assured law enforcement agencies the complete political and citizens' support for their actions to maintain law and order in the province.
He was chairing a high-level meeting to review law and order and plans for its improvement here.
The Chief Secretary Balochistan, the Home and Tribal Affairs Secretary, Inspector General Balochistan Police, IG Balochistan Frontier Corps and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister said the provincial government would ensure maximum resources to the LEAs in order to overcome their logistics and equipments shortage.
On the occasion, he directed for converting the Balochistan Levies into an effective striking force against the elements posing threats to peace in the province and assured for providing all required resources in this regard.
Earlier, the meeting took several decisions to improve security in the provincial capital including installing close-circuit television cameras at all six entry and exit points of the city, improving security arrangements in and around main bazaars and important government buildings.
The meeting recommended joint patrolling by Police, Levies and FC in the city besides checking suspected persons, vehicles and places more exposed to terrorism.
The meeting came hard on the illegal immigrants staying in the province and directed for preparing plans for their expedited repatriation to their respective countries.
The meeting underlined the need of effective implementation of ban on display of weapons in the city besides evolving a comprehensive plan to purge city of illegal weapons.
The meeting urged for revamping intelligence network and improving intelligence sharing process among various flanks of LEAs and approved constitution of a joint task force in order to improve intelligence sharing among LEAs.
