At least 10 people were killed and several got severely injured over a forest dispute in Upper Dir, police confirmed on Thursday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Naseeb Jan said that the tragic incident took place when a few armed men opened fire after a funeral prayer was offered.

Mian Naseeb Jan said that a heavy contingent of police has been sent to the area after the incident, while the injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, nine people, including women and children, were killed in a land dispute in Rawalpindi.
