WFP to continue assisting flood victims in future
PESHAWAR: Country Manager, United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) Domink Frankfurt said on Wednesday that Pakistan would be provided full assistance to meet any emergency situation.

He lauded the steps taken by the government to deal with natural calamities such as earthquakes and flashfloods. He assured that UNWFP would continue to help Pakistan for providing relief to flood affected people.

He said this while speaking at a two-day workshop jointly organized by UNWFP, Meteorological Department, Environmental Department and Provincial Disaster Management Authority here in a local hotel.

The objective of workshop was to create mass awareness for coping with natural disasters to save loss of life and property.

He said that ten countries of the world are located in zones that were mostly in danger of quakes and floods adding that UNWFP was providing relief to their respective governments in rehabilitation efforts.

He urged media to creating awareness among masses to reduce ratio of losses in the wake of any natural calamity.
