Dist govt utilizing resources to drain out rainwater: DCO

HYDERABAD: The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Hyderabad, Ahmed Bux Narejo has said that the District Government is utilizing its all resources to drain out rain water from low-lying areas as early as possible so that affected people could be provided relief and for that district government was being support by Sindh government as well.

This he informed while talking to the MPA Sohail Yousuf during his visit to rain affected areas of Taluka Latifabad on Thursday.

The DCO said `we are being tested by Almighty Allah and we altogether have to face the situation bravely' and added that this is high time to pray to Almighty Allah to help us in overcoming such difficult situation.

The DCO informed that the officers of WASA have been asked to take all possible measures for draining out the rain water without delay. The Police have also been directed to ensure protection of people and their properties particularly the submerged areas where the residents are being evacuated and shifted to safer places.

He further informed that management of Health Department has also been directed to take precautionary measures and protect the people from waterborne diseases.

He also appealed the people of affected areas to cooperate with the officers of WASA and remain calm so that dewatering work could be continued and relief could be provided to them.

He also informed that as soon as recent rain spell is over, spray for protection of Dengue virus and Malaria would be started in all union councils of the district.
