RAWALPINDI: The residents of Rawalpindi have expressed concerns over increasing street crimes, kidnapping,car lifting and purse snatching in the area and have demanded of the high authorities to take notice of the situation.
Talking to APP, here on Thursday the residents complained that the muggers were roaming freely in the city and looting the innocent people. The residents said that with advent of evening the muggers started their activities of snatching precious things from people. Amjad resident of Sadiqabad area said that the police is playing role of silent spectator as the thieves are looting the innocent people.
Street crime is increasing in the jurisdiction of Waris Khan area, said Muhammad Hanif.
The Ganjmandi and Pirwadhi areas were also occupied by the Afghan people and the crime was going to upward trend due to police negligence, Rashid complained.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police arrested 16 criminals and recovered 1090 gram charas,41 bottle of liquor,4 pistols 30 bore, 11 rounds, 1 repeater from their possession.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them and started investigation.
