Milkar.com, an up-and-coming community service platform, has called upon all charitable spirits to register and "give back to society in whatever capacity possible".

According to a statement issued on Tuesday, "the volunteering platform is an online interactive website which connects volunteers to social work for building a better community".

It operates on a simple philosophy: Jo tanha nahi wo mil kar mumkin hai (that which is not possible on one's own becomes possible if we work together).

The platform "is an open call to anyone and everyone who wants to work for a social cause". Volunteers are invited to register free of cost. They need only provide basic information such as name, email, phone number and a password to sign up.

Currently, Milkar.com has onboard "social welfare organisations working on different causes such as quality education, healthcare and environmental protection", said the handout.

"Partner organisations onboard include Al-khidmat Foundation, Akhuwat Foundation, WWF, Teach for Pakistan, The Citizen’s Foundation (TCF), SOS Children’s Villages, Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF), Kashf Foundation, Indus Hospital and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITACEC) to name a few," it added.

Anyone wishing to register "can pick and choose from community service activities and apply for the ones of their liking".

The welfare organisations will then recruit volunteers best suited for the relevant social causes.

"Similarly, volunteers can also build their profiles for community service activities and get constructive feedback from social welfare organisations that they work with," according to the statement.
