Fumigation completed in 88 UCs

MULTAN: The health department has launched dengue virus awareness campaign with ensuring fumigation across the district.

Executive District Officer Dr Inaam Ul Haq in a statement said that the health department had formed 62 teams comprising 162 officials to ensure spray across the district with an objective to deal any possible outbreak of dengue virus in Multan. He informed that the fogging teams had so far done spray in 88 union councils. He also added that spray in remaining 41 union council was in progress.

About spray mixture, he informed that 108 litres of Delta-Methrin, 91 litres of Mithrin was utilised in the spray. Hefurther informed that 173 ponds were also sprayed with 150 kilo mithrin.

He said that the health department had also launched awareness campaign to sensitize public about the precautionary measures. He said the department would display banners inscribed with precautionary measures and distribute 50,000 pamphlets among public.

About dengue fever patients in Multan, he said dengue virus was detected in 37 patients and most of the patients recovered from the disease. He also added that there were 16 patients of dengue virus in Nishtar hospital.

He urged the public to contact 061-9200902 in case of registering any complain related to dengue virus so that the case could be dealt urgently.
