LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said the government was not bothered by the Opposition even if they took to the streets or bazaar.

The Punjab chief minister while speaking to "Aapas ki Baat" on Geo News said all the institutions were working per the law and the Constitution.

In response to a question about being summoned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Buzdar said he had no issue doing that. “Fixing anybody on political grounds was quite an inappropriate act,” he said.

Buzdar added that those spreading rumours about his expulsion from the office want to destabilise the province and the country at large. Dismissing rumours about his removal from office, the chief minister said he had the full trust of Prime Minister Imran Khan which some people did not like at all.

He added that there was no place for opportunists in Naya Pakistan. “Those doing propaganda are trying to hinder the country’s development,” Buzdar remarked.

When he was asked if he considered himself like Wasim Akram or Shershah Suri, he said people could see for themselves what he was.

Buzdar’s full interview with Muneeb Farooq airs at 11:05pm tonight on Geo News.
