Rs 1 mn cheque for Shujabad Press Club

MULTAN: MPA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani on behalf of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani handed over a cheque amounting to Rs One million to president Shujabad Press Club here on Monday.

In a simple ceremony here at PM Camp Office, MPA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani said that PPP led government believed in freedom of press. He said that free, fair and independent media was vital for promotion of democracy. He also gave task to PM's Media Coordinator Khawja Rizwan Alam to hold meeting with DCO Multan for allocation of site for the construction of Shujabad Press Club.

President Shujabad Press Club thanked PM Gilani for presenting the cheque.

PM's Media Coordinator Khawaja Rizwan Alam, President Shujabad Press Club Umair Usmani, General Secretary Khalid Mahmood and Finance Secretary Malik Abdul Latif were also present.
