SANAA: Six people were killed in tribal battles that rocked Sanaa's north Thursday, Yemen's defence ministry's website 26sep.net and tribal sources said.
"Four people were killed and six others were wounded in the shelling that targeted the home of Sheikh Saghir bin Aziz," reported 26sep.net.
Two guards of opposition tribesman Sheikh Hemyar al-Ahmar were killed and five wounded in counter-shelling on his home, his office told AFP.
Medics earlier said at least four civilians were killed when they were caught in the crossfire of fighting in the centre of the capital between Republican Guard troops commanded by Saleh's son Ahmed, and dissidents loyal to General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar. (AFP)
