One dies as building collapses in Lahore

LAHORE: A multi-storey building collapsed in Johar Town area of Lahore that killed one man and injured four others, Geo News reported Friday.

According to sources, the building collapsed when Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was carrying out anti-encroachment drive in the area.

The authority issued a notice regarding the drive two days earlier however the residents were not cautioned before the operation kicked off.

At least ten people were present inside the building when it was bulldozed that killed one man and injured four others, sources added.

Efforts are underway to rescue more victims from the rubble.
