LAHORE: A Romanian delegation headed by Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Titus Corlatean, met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday.
The delegation comprised Romanian investors and businessmen.
Bilateral relations and matters regarding cooperation in various sectors were discussed in the meeting.
Talking to the Romanian delegation, the chief minister said Pakistan and Romania had friendly relations, however, there were a need to promote trade cooperation. He said Punjab and Romania could launch joint ventures in science and technology, agriculture, livestock, energy and other sectors and the exchange of delegations will further strengthen relations between the two countries.
Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Corlatean said Romania was interested in increasing cooperation with Pakistani businessmen and investment in different sectors.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed on this occasion between the Punjab government and Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Prahova County Romania under which measures will be taken for promoting trade and economic cooperation and provision of facilities to investors.
Meanwhile, Punjab Romanian Business Council will be constituted while Romania will appoint its Honorary Consul General in Lahore. (APP)
