LAHORE: Three more people succumbed to the dengue virus in Lahore’s Mayo Hospital Wednesday, raising the toll to 105 in the city, Geo News reported.
Gulzar aged 75 and Irshad 26 were the residents of Bilal Ganj and Lohari Gate respectively who lost their lives today. A student nurse also got victim of the fever.
So far 11, 055 people have lost their lives in Punjab after suffering from the virus.
The provincial government claimed that more than 10,000 patients have recovered from the virus and the number of people visiting the hospitals has decreased.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired another session of the dengue emergency meeting and reviewed various aspects of the campaign against dengue.
The CM was told that eight dispensaries of labour department are functional now while tons of heaps would be disposed of till October 14.
Sharif instructed to step up the process of cleaning the city from filth.
