Massive traffic jams on Ravi bridges

LAHORE: Massive hours-long traffic jams on the two Ravi bridges blocked GT road and some other link roads on Tuesday largely due to lacklustre performance by city traffic police and ill-planned security checking.

Commuters and transporters faced immense problems as both sides of the bridge remained blocked for more than two hours and queues of four wheelers were seen up to Shahdra Railway Station.

Tanzeel, Imran and Naveed--traffic wardens told APP that they tried to regulate the traffic but due to obstruction for security checks at toll plaza their task remained a huge challenge
