Protest over killing of Elite Force cop

RAWALPINDI: A protest was held by the family members of Elite Force cop, Tahir Mahmud who was killed by some unknown persons by by laying the dead body in the middle of Dhamial Road at Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

The protestors blocked Dhamial Road at Ahmedabad and link roads which affected all kinds of traffic.

A heavy contingent of police under the supervision of SP Saddar Circle Waheed Khattak, DSP Malik Ijaz and Station House Office (SHO) Police Station (PS) Saddar Berooni Suhail Ijaz reached the spot.

SP Waheed Khattak told the family members that police had traced the killers and soon they will be put behind the bars.

Razia Bibi, the unfortunate mother of deceased Tahir Mahmud, held the portrait of her dear son and demanded that his killers be arrested at the earliest.

About eight unknown persons had raided the house of an Elite Force official Tahir Mehmood, aged 30, located at Street Number 3/2, Ahmedabad at 6:15pm on Tuesday. They opened fire at Tahir who died instantly. Tahirs’ sister Sofia Shaheen, aged 22 was critically injured.
