Transporters postpone strike after talks
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad-Pindi Transporters Association has postponed their scheduled wheel-jam strike after successful round of talks with Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources here on Tuesday.

Transporters Association delegation led by Sultan Awan called on Ejaz Chaudhry, Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources today, says a statement issued by the Ministry here.

Representatives of District Administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also participated in the meeting.

It may be mentioned here that Islamabad-Pindi Transporters Association had earlier announced a wheel-jam strike over non-availability of CNG for public transport.

However, after assurance of the Ministry of Petroleum and the District Administration regarding supply of CNG to public transport in Pindi and Islamabad, the Transporters Association postponed the strike call.

The issue of establishment of separate/designated CNG stations for public transport in Pindi & Islamabad was also discussed in the meeting.

The next round of talks will be held after 3-4 day. (AFP)
