ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the membership of 231 MPs for not submitting the details of their assets, Geo News reported.
According to the notification of ECP, these lawmakers included 13 members of the Senate, 103 MNAs, 58 MPAs of Punjab Assembly, 23 each of Sindh and Balochistan provincial Assemblies and six of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Federal Ministers Dr Asim Hussain, Rehman Malik, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Chaudhary Ahmed Mukhtar, Naveed Qamar, Amin Fahim and Riyaz Hussain Pirzada are among the 231 members.
The State Minister whose membership is suspended are Shaikh Waqas Akram and Sardar Bahadur Sehar.
Anjum Akeel Khan of PML-N, PPP's Imtiaz Safdar Warraich and Khushbakht Shujaat of MQM are also included.
