HYDERABAD: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has announced a package to ease clearance of arrears by the consumers who will have to pay only 5 percent of their outstanding dues with the current bill each month.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Director Finance and Commercial of WASA Mohsin Nazar Jaffri said the step had been taken to avoid putting financial burden on the consumers for clearing their dues at once.
"A 5 percent payment of the arrears along with the current bill will help the consumers to clear the dues within 2 years and simultaneously it will help WASA to ensure optimal recovery," he added.
Jaffri informed that the areas from where WASA was recovering less than 50 percent of the utility bills might witness that their water supply had been affected.
He appealed to the consumers to pay their bills timely so that they could be provided good service. (APP)
