Police to enforce ban on hide-collection
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Police will strictly enforce the Sindh Government's ban on collecting animal skins and hides during Eid-ul- Azha, said a statement issued after a meeting presided over by District Police Officer (DPO) Pir Farid Sarhindi here on Wednesday.

The DPO directed the police officers who attended the meeting to strictly ensure that no collection camp was allowed to be set up in the
district nor any group of people be allowed to collect the hides from
homes.

"Without obtaining permit from Sindh government in that regard, no welfare or other group or organisations can collect the hides," he added.

Besides, the DPO also ordered the officers to stop the setting up of small and unauthorised cattle markets, which could only be established at the authorised places in the city, given through tenders.

Sarhindi said that security would be beefed up outside the cattle markets to prevent stealing or snatching of sacrificial animals and
vehicles parked outside the markets.

He informed that leaves of all the policemen have been cancelled and security has been tightened on all the entry and exit points of the city. (APP)
