After a public hearing in December 2020, Nepra approved an increase of Rs1.6 per unit. The hike comes into effect in January bills and applies to consumers of all power distribution companies (DISCOs) except Line Life customers.
The fuel price adjustment charges, however, do not apply to electricity consumers. Sources said the increase would impose an additional burden of Rs 8.40 billion on consumers.
