Rain victims continue to receive health care
HYDERABAD: The Director General Health Services Sindh Hifizul Huq Memon has said that the government remained busy in providing health facilities to hundreds of thousands of people affected due to heavy monsoon rains in Sindh.

He informed that up till now 1506793 patients had been treated in 22 fixed and 22 mobile medical camps by 219 doctors/paramedical staff.

According to a report issued here on Monday he informed that most of the people in affected areas are suffering by skin, diarrhea and Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI).

He informed that 242953 patients of skin diseases, 187974 patients of Diarrhea, 270763 patients of ARI, 25986 patients of Dysentery, 73811 patients of eye infection and 869 patients of snake bite had also been treated.

He also informed that 6827 patients tested were found positive out of 287685 patients suspected of malaria. He said that till October 26, 2011 as many as 540 people were injured and 118 had died in rain related incidents in Sindh.

He said that anti malaria spray and fumigation as well as immunization of children and pregnant women were also being carried out.
