RAWALPINDI: Prices of vegetables maintained an upward trend in Rawalpindi markets over the last couple of days.
The rate list of different vegetables weekly bazaar and fruit Mandi issued by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Directorate of Municipal Administration on Friday showed that several vegetables' prices are on rise as their rates had gone up considerably as compared to the last month's rates.
Steep rise in prices of substantial number of vegetables during the last week in wholesale and retail markets of twin cities, has negative impact on the buying power of an overwhelming number of consumers pushing them beyond their buying capacity.
The consumers have demanded of the district administration to take effective steps to overcome the price hike of fruit and vegetables in the markets. They also complained of their poor quality. (APP)
